Matthäus Deisch, the lanternist from Die Herumrufe, including the tune of the lanternist’s cry. Deisch was trained as an engraver in Augsburg but settled in Danzig after 1749, from where he issued a series of 40 prints of Danzig street cries between 1762 and 1765.
