Anonymous, Actieuse Nacht-Wind-Zanger met zyn Tover Slons, from the portfolio Het groote Tafereel der Dwaasheid, 1720. This portfolio satirising the bubble trading in stocks in fraudulent companies included some 74 etchings, 9 plays, anywhere between 15 and 31 pages of poems, a description of a pack of satirical playing cards, several letters, and other items. The magic lantern was used as a symbol of the illusory nature of the speculations.
